Do you know the answer to this question? Well, if you do not, I recommend you know the story.
The school was founded by Ron Stiff. He came with his family to Ecuador from California as a missionary. As time passed, he built himself a house and the family began to grow. Children from all around Ecuador, and even from Colombia, joined his family. He shared the love of our Savior Jesus Christ with them and also taught them English as their second language. Since the family began to grow more and more, it wasn't a bad idea to build a school for them and even, more!
His children would be half of the school already; thats what everybody thought. The first person to join the school, not being part of Ron's family, was Lydia, another North American missionary living in Ecuador. She told us that they went with pajamas to the school, and even wearing slippers sometimes! Sounds fun, doesn't? We wish school was like that nowadays. =)
The first year the school was opened to the public was in 2006, and it started with around 50 students total (including kinder, elementary and high school). We didn't have a real school building. Back then we used the "guest house". It was real fun but weird back then. There were no uniforms at first but after 2 months uniforms were created. And they were the exact same colors as they are today.
Montebello never thought there was going to be many people wanting to come. Every day we saw new students entering to take tests.. God was blessing us so much that now the school has around 330 students!
